Churches of Loughor
Moriah Chapel
In 1739, following the visit of the itinerant preacher Howell Harris to the Loughor area, a society of Methodists was formed. As the church grew it was necessary to build a larger building in 1898. The first service was held in July 1899 by the Minister. Rev Daniel Jones. Five years later God blessed the church through a young man who was a member of the Moriah, Evan Roberts, the Revivalist.
